# Living Pet

Pets are either [Cosmetic](/mcpets/tutorials/config-templates/pet-config.md#cosmetic-pet-config) or [Living](/mcpets/tutorials/config-templates/pet-config.md#living-pet-config) in MCPets.

[**Cosmetic pets**](/mcpets/tutorials/config-templates/pet-config.md#cosmetic-pet-config) are meant to be invincible pets, contrary to the [**Living pet**](/mcpets/tutorials/config-templates/pet-config.md#living-pet-config) that have health, statistics and more.

Check out the [Pet Config](/mcpets/tutorials/config-templates/pet-config.md) to see how to implement either of these.

If you have chosen to create a living pet, then all the following features are now available to you.

Note that living pet also benefit from all the other features you could use for the cosmetic pets.
